A40 Titanium lever guard
A40 Titanium lever guard
The Story:
This journey began a few years ago, when I first started racing at age 58. I’m an industrial designer so it wasn’t long before I was looking for products that I could improve on. Louie Raffa was one of the first pro riders I met- and he was instrumental in getting this whole thing going.
The first versions were 3D printed carbon fiber but were expensive to make and not exactly ready for prime time. I also had the chance to have these on Sebastian Tremblay’s bike courtesy of Turcotte Performance. This gave me some great insights on rider ergonomics.
The result of all this experimentation, development, and testing (maybe 4 dozen prototypes) is the A40 titanium lever guard. Last season it was on the bikes two blindingly fast Ontario riders, Kayla Hannaford and Drew Weber. Their feedback was fantastic. The guards performed flawlessly- so we knew we were ready to go to market. (both riders will be riding with the A40 again this season).
This lever guard has been proven over three years of testing and development. It’s a classic Canadian industrial design with simple strong lines and perfect ergonomics, like a well proven tool. That’s what I like about race bikes- there’s nothing there except what makes you go faster. A40 is the perfect complement to any race bike.
We are offering the A40 lever guard on preorder for delivery this race 2024 race season.
